Rug Ratings exists because buying a rug is genuinely hard. Fiber content is buried, 'non-toxic' means nothing on its own, and most rug content online is written to sell rather than to inform.
What we do
We research and compare rugs on materials, washability, construction, comfort, durability, value and certifications, then publish buying guides, individual reviews, head-to-head comparisons and educational articles about fibers and finishes.
How we stay independent
Recommendations are never sold. No brand pays for placement, an award badge or a score. Where we earn affiliate revenue, it does not influence which rug wins a category, and picks change when the research changes.
What we will not do
We do not fabricate hands-on testing. Every page states whether a rug was physically tested or evaluated through published specifications, manufacturer documentation and third-party certification records. We do not publish a certification claim until it is verified for the finished product.
